September 14th was my due date for Noah.  Here I am on the big day in 2006 in all my huge stomach glory.  It took 9 months/40 weeks/280 days for it to get this big.  Little did we know, I would still have to wait another 11 days before his birth.  And even then, it had to be artificially induced; he had no intention of coming out of his own accord.

Oh, and this is our local station.  It looks like a small country town! You'd never know that downtown is just a few stops away.  Noah had to wave bye to the train.

Southern Cross Train Station

Noah loves trains at the moment so we decided to take him for a ride.  We went early on Saturday morning when its not very busy.  Our local station is just 4 stops away from the downtown stations, so its a fairly short and easy journey.  We went to the newest one downtown, Southern Cross Station, which is almost an artwork in itself. Very modern design. Noah was NOT pleased about having to leave the trains behind and head home-- see the bottom photo and his tantrum!

Old Melbourne Gaol

One of the few "tourist" attractions here that I hadn't managed to visit until recently is the "Old Melbourne Gaol" (For those who don't know, "gaol" is an old English spelling of "jail").   Michael's sister had some relatives in town who wanted to see it so I tagged along with them. This is Australia's oldest jail and was home to the infamous Ned Kelly until he was hanged here in 1880.  The bottom photo is of our nephew Benn, donning a replica of Ned Kelly's armor. 

Noah has started trying to push the limits with Anna.  "Play" is gradually changing to a mild form of harassment.  Here he is sticking his finger in her mouth.  He likes to put it in just a tiny bit too far sometimes as he seems to think the noise Anna makes when she gags is quite funny & entertaining.   Somehow, Anna really isn't too fazed by any of it.

Anna has started "solid" food.  She's not too happy about this.

The arrival of her first tooth is imminent.  In the meantime, she can't resist her hands. 

Its quite tricky to get a photo of Noah & Anna together.  I gave up on smiling a long while ago, and now I consider it a success if they're both looking in the general direction of the camera.  Here they are in all their imported (from the USA, not really all that exotic) pajama glory.
