Aquarium

We have annual passes to both the Zoo and the Aquarium.  On those mind-numbing days when I'm stumped for ideas to entertain Noah we go to the aquarium if its raining, or to the zoo if its sunny.  Several of our friends also have zoo &/or aquarium passes, so we often meet up with others there.  Its a great, easy way to keep him occupied.   Here he is at the Aquarium's huge shark tank, pointing to a big one in the bottom photo.   

Ice Cream

We don't let Noah have "junk-food" very often and he doesn't seem too interested in it anyway (yet).  This was his first time trying ice cream the other day.  I've never seen his mouth open up so far. He was loving it!!  

Airport II

Since watching the airplanes at the airport was such a hit with Noah last week, we took him again this weekend.  We discovered yet another great spot to watch the planes, which happened to be quite deserted.  We saw plenty of the Qantas kangaroo emblems on the tails of the aircraft, and then we also spotted a little family of real kangaroos!!  They must be "locals" :) because they didn't even flinch at the noise of the planes overhead. 

Kookai anyone?

The owners of the clothing label "KOOKAI" live just 2 streets away from us. Well, their house is now on the market and it can be yours for a cool $4 - 5 million! Any takers? We'd love to have you as neighbours! 

Airport I

We took Noah to the Airport to see some planes. There are some big, empty paddocks just past the airport which we discovered by accident, but it was a great spot to watch the planes come in to land.  Most of the planes were just domestic Qantas flights, but the last plane before we left was a big jumbo/Airbus. It was a bit unnerving to have it come so close over our heads, it was enormous!  Noah often covered his head when the planes were right overhead, but he enjoyed waving bye to them once they passed.

Our little girl is 7 months old this week!

Sandbox

We have a sandbox (or sandpit, as they call it here) built in under our back deck.  We were in the process of building our house when I was pregnant with Noah, and Michael literally dreamed up this space-saving sandbox idea while I was in labour with Noah.  Living in the city in a European-esque sort of way as we do, space-saving ideas are imperative.  Its handy as you can lift the lid and its a sandbox by day, but put the lid down and its deck/entertaining area at night:)  Noah LOVES it!  He wants to be out in it in the rain, in the dark, at 6am (waking the neighbours), in the freezing cold. He also loves to bring his sand creations into the house to show us. It has been like a beach on our floors lately.   

I had finally convinced him to come inside to have a little shower before we went away, and I turned my back for a millisecond and he ran back outside into the sandpit...resulting in the nude sandboxing experience below.
